What’s up 7|X!
My name is Tadeo Arnold and I’m honored to be collaborating with 7|X to share my passion. Following my career as a professional soccer player, I realized there was a gap in the fitness world. Too much of the community was focused on quick fixes, body appearance, and superficial notions of health and fitness.
I decided to dedicate my life to true health and fitness and have harnessed all my experience and knowledge into Cuerpaso® (Portuguese for “Amazing Body”), my soccer-inspired fitness philosophy. To me, a Cuerpaso is the result of a well-rounded, sustainable routine personalized to bring out the best in any individual.
I am excited to share what I have learned with you in the form of fitness routines, nutrition regimens and (hopefully) some fun content that inspires you to action. In short, you can think of me as your resident 7|X Virtual Trainer.
Where should we start? I believe the most important first step is to define what success looks like. For me, I define success by achieving a healthy balance across the three most important things in my life. I call these my Pillars of Success:
- Live a Healthy Lifestyle
- Spend Time With Family (Blood + Friends)
- Financial Freedom
If any component of the triad is missing, my life begins to slowly slip into disarray like a broken egg yolk. After a great deal of self-evaluation, I have realized the single greatest contributor to success – for me – is balance, or rather the relentless pursuit of balance. And the anchor of that balance is Pillar #1 – Living a Healthy Lifestyle.
Setting aside a small yet sustainable amount of time in our daily routines can help us achieve a healthier work / life balance.
This leads me to the topic I want to kick us off with, which is this ever-elusive idea of work / life balance. It is something we all aspire to, but so rarely seem to be able to achieve. Work always seems to get the better end of the bargain and often prevents us from living a healthy lifestyle. How could it not? After all, it is what pays the bills.
So, what recommendations do I have to seek a more healthy work / life balance? I’m glad you asked!
It is important to remember that the building blocks of a healthy lifestyle are like perfume… a little bit goes a long way. If you use too little (practice them too infrequently), it doesn’t become part of your identity and personal brand. If you use too much (practice them too often), you risk burning out (and potentially becoming so obnoxious that you lose all your friends). Setting aside a small yet sustainable amount of time in our daily routines can help us achieve a healthier work / life balance.
My rule of thumb for this is simple: 1%.
What if we were to spend just 1% of our lives dedicated toward physical activity to promote mental and physical health and balance? Let’s do some math:
- There are 60 minutes in an hour
- And there are 24 hours in a day
- That means there are 1,440 minutes in a day
- 1% of 1,440 minutes = 14 minutes
1% of our day translates to 14 minutes per day. That’s right, dedicating just 14 simple minutes per day (or 30 minutes 3-4 times a week) is all I believe it takes to live a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.
Sounds simple, right? Trust me, I know life has a funny way of getting in the way of our plans, but if we look back at our days with a fine-toothed comb I am confident we can all find 14 minutes worth of Instagram scrolling, channel surfing, or snack hunting (no judgment!) to re-prioritize toward living a healthier lifestyle.
I commit to providing a training regimen that takes into account your real life schedule and a nutrition plan that will integrate seamlessly into your lifestyle. In addition, I will offer the same Coaching insights – from enthusiasm to technical fitness knowledge – I share with all my clients, from every day athletes looking to stay in shape to Olympians looking to dominate on the world’s greatest stage.
So let’s get to it! I’m pumped to share all that I know and hope to inspire you, our communities, and eventually the world.
